Things between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are still going strong.
The on-again, off-again couple — who started dating again late 2017 after spending years apart — are putting a lot of work into their relationship to make sure it lasts this time around, according to Us Weekly. A source recently told the publication the pair have been focused being good partners and establishing an open line of communication — even attending yoga and Pilates classes “that help alleviate stress” together as a way to strengthen their bond.
“They always want to be open books and keep things real and honest,” an insider spilled. “It’s helped reduce stress, and as a result, they’re in a much healthier spot.”
As previously reported, friends were concerned about Selena, 25, and her well-being when she first reunited with Justin, 23, following her kidney transplant last summer. A source told that at the time that those close to the “Wolves” singer were worried she was heading for heartache once more by getting back with her ex.
“Justin hasn’t always been that great to Selena, so there’s always worry that he’s going to break her heart again,” our source said. “In the past, Selena took him back just to have things fall apart. He has a history of disappointing her and she’s been left devastated each time.”
Since the reconciliation, Selena has been more open about her struggles with mental health. She told Harper’s Bazaar in its March 218 issue that she’s learned to take time for herself, saying, “Anyone who knows me knows I will always start with my health and my well-being.”
In January, the Disney Channel alum completed a short rehabilitation program focused on mental wellness.
“I’ve had a lot of issues with depression and anxiety, and I’ve been very vocal about it, but it’s not something I feel I’ll ever overcome,” she shared. “I think it’s a battle I’m gonna have to face for the rest of my life, and I’m OK with that because I know that I’m choosing myself over anything else.”
